Rep: Regent.
RT: Happy Holidays.
Rep: I wish you whatever you wish
me.
RT: Very logical.
Rep: Why did you finally agree to
do an interview with us?
RT: It was Jack who finally agreed.
I had always wanted to do an interview with you guys. You amaze me, because you study me like I’m a disease or something.
If you need an autograph, honey, I can write it. Just so you know.
Rep: So, let’s talk about
Alex. You walked out on him because he wouldn’t let you shadow dance?
RT: Yup.
Rep: Even though he’s just
trying to stop you from doing something that’s both stupid and dangerous?
RT: Or is he just trying to keep
me from doing something because I love it more then him? Because he won’t be happy until he owns my mind, body and soul,
like Carth did? Because he’s a loser compared to Carth, because he can’t understand why Carth did half the things
he did?
Rep: What do you mean?
RT: Alex always wants to beat Carth.
The mans dead, and Alex still can’t beat him. Look at him! He’s bought Carth’s car, he tried to make Carth’s
girl fall in love with him, he’s trying to make this industry admire him like it admired Carth, and that’s precicesly
why he’s failing. Carth never tried to do anything in his life. He just did it.
Rep: Carth was never head of the
NAL, either.
RT: And Alex was never head of the
Pride. Which is more important, truthfully?
Rep: Well – so what! Alex
never stabbed his brother in the back!
RT: Alex never had a brother. Besides,
Traigo was the one who stabbed Carth in the back. Brush up on your facts before you interview me about Carth.
Rep: I suppose I ought to have.
I get the impression that you really, really loved him – I mean, besides like the fact that you have no heart.
RT: I did. I loved him. Do you know
what day this is? December 20th?
Rep: What day?
RT: It’s the day after Carth
died. The day after you published that interview with Alex, degrading my relationship with Carth. You published that –
travesty of truth the very night Carth died. Ironic, isn’t it?
Rep: I – I guess we didn’t
realize that.
RT: Yeah. That must have been it.
Rep: Why do you enjoy shadow dancing
so much?
RT: Alex had that part right. Fast,
fun, danger. My kind of mix.
Rep: Was Chietan – Carth –
Byleth – however you want to refer to him, a shadow dancer too?
RT: He tried it a couple times,
but he was never any good. <laughs softly> Carth was always too fast moving to be a shadow dancer. He hated anything
unresolved – which is exactly what shadow dancing is, a step unresolved
Rep: Alex said he loved to watch
you shadow dance, though.
RT: He did… He told me that
my most beautiful moments were when I was either pure heaven or pure hell.
Rep: I know the pure hell –
but pure heaven?
RT: He loved to see my innocence.
My tame side, as Alex puts it. The sweet part of sweet and sour.
Rep: And you? What was your favorite
part of him?
RT: I never really had a favorite…
everything about him was amazing. He was so – he was a God, I swear it. Anything he touched seemed to turn to gold.
Money would simply fall from the sky to his hands. Talent was nothing – he was a genius in practically everything he
tried. Women threw themselves at him.
Rep: And yet he seemed to love only
you.
RT: He picked me. I didn’t
know why for a long time, but then he explained to me. The world he grew up in – everyone just saw the internal. The
internal beauty to them, of course, was vicious, cold, cruel and unfeeling. He saw in me something – something brighter,
happier, more joyful. He loved that. But he also felt in me a darkness that he loved, too. He - <she broke into sobs at
this point>
Rep: Regent, are you alright? We
can postpone…
RT: No, no, I’m okay. Sorry.
It’s just, this time of year, Carth always has a… deep effect on me.
Rep: It’s alright, Regent.
I understand.
RT: Thanks.
Rep: <coughs slightly> I,
um, this is sort of deviating from the cue cards, but why does Alex hate and love you so much.
RT: Because he can’t have
me, and he knows it. I belong to Carth, deep down, and he can’t stand that. The instant he got my heart he’d throw
it away. He only wants what he can’t have.
Rep: Regent.
RT: Mmhm?
Rep: I want to apologize. I’m
sorry for saying all of those things I’ve said about you. You’re not cold and heartless, you’re quite the
opposite. Brunjaal was my hero – I should have known he’d never love a woman that was like the woman OPHRT describes.
RT: Thank you…. That means
a lot to me.
Rep: He loved you – he really
did. And for that reason, I quit. The OPHRT can lick my ass.
